Since 2003, Diane Bates has been at The College of New Jersey, a highly selective public liberal arts college. Apart from her continuing research on environmental and social change in the Ecuadorian Amazon, she has engaged in collaborative student research on the New Jersey bear hunt, environmental justice in Trenton, and the Delaware River floods. She was co-director for the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR)'s summer research program, Community and Environmental Change in Trenton, NJ. She is co-PI on the NSF-funded TCNJ Advancement Program, which seeks to improve gender equity in NSF-funded disciplines at TCNJ.
