Dr. Collins' interests encompass technology and innovation management, new product development processes, globally distributed project work and organization theory. His research has focused on topics such as connectivity and distributed project team performance, concurrent product development practices and innovation performance, innovation adoption timing and firm performance, investments in knowledge and firm survival, and social and technical drivers of rates of innovation. He has published in leading management and technology journals, is the recipient of several research awards, and has consulted with companies such as Ingersoll Rand, Rolls-Royce, and Varian Semiconductor Equipment Associates.
