The Education Trust – Assistant Director for K-12 School and District Assistance
Candace works with schools and districts to train teachers in Ed Trust’s Standards-in-Practice protocol, a tool that helps teachers improve the rigor and quality of their assignments. Previously, she served as senior associate for teacher quality. During that time, she coordinated the “Instructional Practices of Effective Teachers Study,” a two-year study of middle school math teachers in the Kansas City, Mo., metropolitan area. Candace earned a master's in education policy at the University of Pennsylvania and has taught sixth-grade math and middle and high school history. She serves as president of the board of trustees of the Capital City Public Charter School, a nationally recognized expeditionary learning school in Washington, D.C.
