After a NIDA funded postdoctoral fellowship at Michigan, Dr. Curran joined the faculty at UAMS in the Division of Health Services Research, Department of Psychiatry. He now directs the UAMS Center for Implementation Research with joint appointments in the Departments of Pharmacy Practice, Psychiatry, and Health Policy and Management. He has been continually funded by NIH and other research funders for over 20 years. He spends his time doing federally funded health services research on how best to support implementation of evidence-based practices in healthcare systems, mentoring fellows and junior faculty in their research, and teaching graduate courses in implementation science. In 2002 he was invested as the inaugural holder of the Endowed Chair in Pharmacy Practice Innovation and was awarded a Fulbright Specialist Award to teach and mentor in Ireland.
