Professor Mullaney has published articles in Qualitative Sociology, Symbolic Interaction and British Medical Journal and is the author of Everyone Is NOT Doing It: Abstinence and Personal Identity (University of Chicago Press, 2006). Professor Mullaney has made numerous presentations at conferences such as American Society for Bioethics and Humanities, Society of General Internal Medicine, and American Sociological Association. Her areas of interest include qualitative methodology, cognitive sociology, gender, family, sexuality, and identity. Her courses include Comparative Race and Ethnic Relations; Courtship, Marriage, and Family; From Womb to Tomb: Perspectives on Lifecourse; Individual and Society; Social Construction of Human Sexuality; Criminal Justice; Deviance and Social Control; Seminars in Qualitative Methods and Masculinities.
