In 2001 we held our first department Poster Session and it has now become a tradition. We think posters are an underutilized venue for the presentation of research ideas and results in sociology, and we think it is a wonderful way for a department to represent its research activity at all levels, to itself and to visitors. On the day of the Poster Session, we have presenters standing by their posters, meeting and talking with other department members, invited guests from other departments and around the university, prospective graduate students considering our program, and parents of our youngest presenters, the Honors students.
