Course Description:

This course explores the history of race and ethnic relations in the United States. Students will be introduced to concepts and issues concerning historical and contemporary processes including: the social construction of race, ethnicity, prejudice, discrimination, assimilation, expulsion, and institutionalized discrimination. We will also address ways by which systemic racism can be addressed, personally and institutionally.
