Professor Karen A. Cerulo has written several articles and a book (Deciphering Violence: the Cognitive Structure of Right and Wrong) on media and violence. She can comment on the various effects of media violence, and the “rules” that govern the presentation of violent messages and images. She can also speak to the role of media in specific social events – i.e. mass murders, copycat crimes, youth violence, terrorism, etc.
