MonkEllis Monk is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology and a Faculty Associate of the Office of Population Research. He earned his PhD in Sociology from the University of California at Berkeley; and he taught at the University of Chicago before relocating to Princeton in Fall 2016. His research interests include: ethnoracial categorization and stratification; political sociology; health, theory; the sociology of the body; social psychology and cognition; and Brazil. Additionally, he is interested in Geometric Data Analysis (otherwise referred to as Multiple Correspondence Analysis). His research has been published or is forthcoming in the American Journal of Sociology, Social Forces, and Social Problems.
