New Faculty Position Opening: Sociology of Data and Technology

The Sociology Department at Rutgers University seeks to hire a junior scholar in the area of data and technology in social life. We seek a scholar with research and teaching interests in the role of large-scale data and digital technologies within or across social and institutional domains including the economy, politics, healthcare, criminal justice/punishment, and/or culture. Preference will be given to candidates who understand the mechanics of digital technologies and computational methods and use them in their research within a substantive area of focus. The ability to secure external funding is desirable. This is a tenure track position at the assistant professor level to begin September 1, 2020. We will start reviewing applications on October 1, 2019. Applications received after that date cannot be assured full consideration.
