  • Olivia’s research interests include sociology of work, technology and migration. Her particular focus lies in examining the impact of digitalization and automation on the service sector and care work, as well as investigating the racialization of labor within the context of platform capitalism. In her previous research, she has explored the role of migrant labor in the 'gig economy', with a specific emphasis on studying the interconnections of border regimes and locally performed platform work, such as food delivery, cleaning, and taxi services. Olivia received her B.A. in Sociology from the University of Helsinki. She also holds a B.A. and M.A. in Art Education from Aalto University of Art, Design and Architecture. She has been awarded the Fulbright Graduate Grant for the academic year 2023-24.20.
