- Rebecca Urm
Rebecca Urm is a doctoral student in Sociology at Rutgers University whose research examines the intersections of gender, family, and health. She earned her undergraduate degrees in Public Health and Sociology from The College of New Jersey before pursuing a Master of Public Health at Columbia University, where she concentrated in sexuality and sexual and reproductive health. Rebecca has held a range of research positions with both academic and non-academic partners, contributing to qualitative studies on infant loss, youth sexual vulnerability in Botswana, and prolonged grief disorder, among other topics. She completed her master’s thesis on coping and the gendered experience of the empty nest transition, conducting interviews with 24 parents across the United States. Passionate about qualitative research, Rebecca is committed to amplifying individuals’ voices through her work and bridging the gap between research and action.
