Doctoral Student

Rob’s research interests include the environment, science and technology, communications, social movements, and policy. His research investigates how industry, environmental activists, and policymakers blend science and political narratives as they attempt to shape policy regarding energy systems and climate change. His current project explores circumstances that lead to the inclusion or exclusion of climate considerations during the development of state-level oil and gas production policy. Previously, he has also explored the use and misuse of science in discourse about fracking. Rob holds a B.A. in Sociology and English from Bucknell University.
